✳ PRIVACY · UPDATED OCTOBER 19, 2026
What we keep. Who can see it.
Ledger Legends is a course practice tool for ACC 202.
Your account and progress.
Email accounts store your login email, chosen name, section, hashed password, privacy choices, and progress. Anonymous accounts use a generated username instead of an email. We store your decisions and answers so you can resume and your instructor can provide feedback.
Your instructor.
The instructor can see students’ course progress, practice answers and receipts, and focused activities. This course use is disclosed at signup. Practice results are formative and are not grades.
Your choices.
Canvas association, class-market participation, and occasional game email are separate, optional choices. They start off. You can change them in Account. Association requires email verification and an exact Canvas course match. The site stores the matched Canvas user ID, not your student number. Turning association off removes that link from the live profile.
The class market.
Only signed-in classmates in your selected section can see its standings. The market shows your chosen stand name, customers served, and season profit if you opt in. It does not display your login email or personal name. Your stand contributes to the class goal whether or not it appears in the market.
Cookies and outside services.
A secure session cookie keeps you signed in for up to fourteen days. Signing out revokes that session; changing or resetting a password revokes other sessions. The site uses an email provider for account messages and Canvas when you request association. Fonts are served from this site. Definition drills load published content from the original Accounting.Games collection; they do not need a separate login.
Retention and deletion.
You can delete your account in Account with your password. This removes linked progress from the live database. Daily backup copies are retained for up to thirty days; they are restricted to server administrators and expire through rotation. If an older backup is restored, administrators must reapply deletions before reopening the service. The instructor reviews course data at the end of each term and removes accounts no longer needed for teaching.
Questions or corrections.
Contact your ACC 202 instructor through the usual course channel. You can ask about your data, correct a course association, or request removal. The site does not sell student data or run advertising trackers.
This notice describes the implemented pilot. Institutional review of the course’s data use remains the instructor’s responsibility.
